A Phenomenal Season

Wednesday - October - 2022

I have no idea where to begin. Since my last post, we won 4 more feature events and 2 Track Championships. I’ll try my best to sum up the end of our 2022 season.

Sharon – We won another local race paying $3000 to win. We also went to race against the Outlaws there in late September. We qualified top 10, finished 3rd in the heat race, but I hit a Yuke Tire on lap 1 of the feature and ruined our chances at a good run. We finished 16th, 2 laps down.

Lernerville – We won 2 more races there, including the $4000 to win Sprint Spectacular, with a late race pass. We absolutely dominated the points battle and locked up our championship with still 1 race to go. This was our 6th Track Championship at Lernerville Speedway, which ties the great Lou Blaney for most ever in Sprint Cars. We had a bit of misfortune but brought home an 8th place finish in the $10,000 to win Commonwealth Clash against the FAST 410 series. Our season here ended with the Steel City Stampede, where we finished 2nd in literally every race we were a part of all weekend.

Tri-City – We ran Tri-City 8 times all year. We won 3 of those races and finished 2nd in the other five. Our final race at Tri-City was against the FAST 410 series. We won with a last lap pass and grabbed the $3000 check. That last lap pass was enough to help us secure our first track champion there and our 7th overall.

Dog Hollow – Dog Hollow put on a special $5000 to win race. We qualified a bit off the pace but ran well in the heat race and finished 2nd in the feature. Still trying to find speed and our first win there but we are close.

Knox – I made my first visit to the speedway here in late September. We qualified 1st, ran 2nd in our heat race and also came up 1 spot short and finished 2nd in the feature. I truly believe we had the fastest car, but just couldn’t make a move to get around the leader.

Port Royal – Ahhhhh. Yes… Good ol’ Port Royal. Absolutely love this place. But it hasn’t been kind to us recently. Tuscarora 50 weekend started off with me wrecking in the B-Main on Thursday while in a transfer spot. I hit a rut wrong, and it turned the car straight into the fence. We didn’t have much speed on Friday and missed the transfer. On Saturday, the driveline broke and we DNF’ed after only running 2 hot laps. Heartbreaking for sure, but that’s racing.

Come October, part of me is all for taking a break and getting ready to go for the following season. On the other hand, I want to keep learning, keep racing, and keep winning, and I get a bit depressed as the season finishes. It could also possibly be because I hate winter so much. At least we have hockey #LetsGoPens

To everyone that continues to support me and read these blogs, thank you. I will put in the work this offseason and do everything I can to try to better or at least replicate our 2022 success. I can’t wait to be back out on the clay in front of you all again in 2023.
