Winning Races and Speedweek Titles!

Western PA Speedweek was a grind from start to finish. Our team put together a strong, consistent week that gave us an advantage in the points chase. We started things off exactly how we wanted, picking up back-to-back wins at Mercer Raceway Park on Wednesday (Win #4) and Pittsburgh Pennsylvania Motor Speedway on Thursday (Win #5). Both wins were exciting and helped set the stage for the kind of performance we expected out of ourselves during the 5-day stretch of racing. Those two victories put us in control of the championship battle early in the week and gave us a cushion heading into the final three races.
We got behind the 8-ball early Friday night at Lernerville Speedway, but we were hard-charger and came away with a fourth-place finish and valuable championship points. Sharon Speedway on Saturday was our wild card – Not our best racetrack and one we knew we needed to just get through in a good spot. While it wasn’t the result we wanted, the team kept working and limited the damage on a night.
Heading into the final round at Tri-City Raceway Park, we knew the championship was still within reach if we stayed focused and took care of business. All we needed was a finish of 19th or better. We closed out the week with a fifth-place finish at Tri-City. It wasn’t a trip to victory lane, but it was enough to secure the overall Western PA Speedweek championship. Looking back on the five-race swing, the key was consistency. Two wins, four top 5s and every night was a top 10. This team put in a lot of work and allowed us to capture our third career Western PA Speedweek title. Winning a championship against this level of competition across five different racetracks is something we’re proud of, and it’s a testament to everyone who contributes to this race team week in and week out.
