Summer Success

Monday - August - 2021

Its been a trying year. many ups and downs. Good runs and heartbreak. Consistency and wrecks cars. BUT.. Fingers crossed, I think we are getting back in a good groove.

Tri-City Raceway Park has literally been checkers or wreckers for us this year. We won our 2nd race of the year there on July 18th, 2021. We went back for a normal show on July 25th and broke while running 5th. In 6 races there this year, we have won 2, finished 2nd in one, flipped twice, and broke on the 6th occasion. The schedule there is very thin for the remaining portion of 2021 and I’m not sure if we will make it back at all.

The World of Outlaws came to Lernerville for their first visit of 2021 on July 20th for the Don Martin Memorial. Overall, it was our best qualifying performance we have ever had. Unfortunately, we struggled in the heat race, transferred in the BMain and ran between 15th and 20th in the Amain until Brad Sweet went on a tear and lapped into the top 10. After almost a 6 week layoff, we returned to Lernerville for a Fab 4 Program on July 30th. We won the heat race and went 9th to 4th in the feature on a very slick track, that oddly, went nonstop.

Sprinkled in throughout those weeks, was a yearly visit to Thunder Mountain Speedway. We stayed at the top of the board all night long. 2nd Overall in qualifying, heat race winner, and led every lap of the feature for a nice $3000 pay day. We have raced Thunder Mountain 4 times. Our winning percentage is 50%, with our other win coming in 2016.

We returned to Port Royal on July 31st for the $10,000 to win Dream race, followed by a special $5000 additional feature. This was ultimately our best performance at port Royal since the 2019 season. We qualified 8th overall, ran 2nd in the heat race, started 9th in the Dream, worked our way up to 7th until I faded within the last 5 laps and finished 10th. Brent Marks was on a tear and lapped up to 10th in the nonstop feature. We missed the 2nd feature invert by 1 and started 10th in the A-Main. We basically ran 10th the entire time, missed some viscous wrecks and brought the car home 8th. 2 top 10 finishes at Port Royal against one of the toughest fields they will have all year is definitely something for our team to be proud of.
