Racing Picks Back Up

We have recently completed a stretch of racing where we ran 4 times, in 6 days, at 3 different speedways. And no, we did not follow PA Speedweek.
Our week started at Port Royal on July 1st for the 6th night of PA Speedweek. For some reason, our early night speed has been missing and it showed again in qualifying as we timed mid-pack. Started 5th in the heat, and finished 4th. Then started 16th in the feature, struggled quite a bit and fell back to finish 18th.
We raced locally on July 3rd, at Lernerville Speedway. We tried something in the heat race to make the car stop rolling so far right and it made the car ridiculous to drive and very rough handling. We switched back to a setup we were more comfortable with, started 12th in the feature, was passing for 5th, and got contacted in the LR wheel. It sent us spinning into the infield. I was required to get out of the car to explain to officials if the car was able to be driven or needed towed. After I got out of the car to help the officials, I was disqualified from the event and was not allowed to rejoin, even though my car was in good condition.
We went back to Port Royal for July 4th for the 9th night of PA Speedweek and the Greg Hodnett Classic. Another mediocre qualifying run started us 5th in the heat race, which is also where we finished. After lining up 20th for the A-Main, we marched forward to 10th, barely missing the hard charger award.
For our final night of racing, we drove to Tri-City in Franklin, PA. Started and finished 4th in the heat race, missing the redraw on a rough and narrow race track. After starting 12th in the feature, we were racing for 5th, with less than half of the racer completed. Out of nowhere, the motor started missing and overheating. We lost a few spots until I decided it was best to just take the car to the pits and check out the equipment.
Our speed has been up and down all year long, and our luck has not been very good. The combination of those things has put us in a position where we lack strong finishes and our true speed has not been shown because of early race exits. Nonetheless, this is the sport of auto racing and riding these waves are part of the thrill. We wil inspect all components and be prepared for another 3 days stretch of racing, starting July 10th.
