Local Opening Weekend

I would like to think that our Port Royal experience so far has payed off.
The local Lernerville season began this past Friday 4/23/2021. We went 4th to 2nd in the heat race, and 7th to 2nd in the feature. We needed a bit more speed to compete for the win, and slightly more luck. It seemed like every caution, halted a current pass for position and sent us back again. It happened at least 4 times. Nonetheless, we showed good speed and Im happy with that start to the year for Lernerville.
We made the trek to Port Royal again for our Saturday night of racing. Unfortunately, we just seemed to eb behind the 8 ball all night long. We transferred into the handicap through our heat race, however, we did it with struggles. I missed the setup again in the feature and we faded from 5th to 12th. I was lucky the speedway started to lay rubber and allowed me to salvage that position.
We got our luck back together for the Sunday night race. It was our first race of the year at Tri-City after coming off some promising progress made during the 2020 season. We came out of the gate hot, fastest in hotlaps, and backed it up with a win in the heat race. Another lucky pill draw gave us the front row starting spot for the A-Main. We took off, leading every lap, unchallenged, for the $2000 victory. A small boost of confidence for us heading into the local Allstar weekend.
