We tried to carry some momentum from our win at Tri-City, throughout the week to Lernerville and Port Royal.

Luck helped the situation as we pulled a number 8 pill Friday night. It started us on the pole of the 3rd heat race. We had some very good speed, turned some great laps, and checked out for the win. The feature redraw put us in the 5th starting position. A series of cautions set the early pace but we grabbed the lead after the 3rd restart on lap 4. A strong car allowed me to drive more confidently into corners and we extended our lead to over 6 seconds. More late race cautions tested our ability on restarts but we held the lead through it all and grabbed win #2 on the 2020 season.

on Saturday, we went to Port Royal for the 2020 Living Legends Dream Race. Obviously, our goal was to back up our win from 2019. We are realists, however, and knew how hard this goal would be to accomplish. We set out with some new ideas to pick up speed in qualifying. Our night started off well with a top 7 hotlap time. We went out late for qualifying and I’m not sure if I missed my marks or we over-adjusted the car, nonetheless, we dropped from 7th to 13th, which knocked us out of the redraw spot for the semi’s. We started 7th and finished 7th in the semi and locked ourselves into the main event. As the pit announcers called for the cars to be pushed onto the front straightaway for our main event, a strong storm cell came through and washed out the remainder of the racing program. The make up race will be on August 22nd, 2020 as part of a double feature program with a normal night of racing.
