Apollo, Pa – New season, new car, new suit – and Apollo’s AJ Flick is ready to launch into his 2020 sprint car campaign across Central and Western Pennsylvania aboard his No. 2 machine.
Flick will race regularly on Saturday’s at Port Royal Speedway in the central PA region while focusing his Friday nights on Lernerville Speedway and Sunday nights at the newly reopened Tri-City Speedway in Franklin, PA.
“It’s impossible for me to explain how excited I am to climb back into a race car for 2020,” Flick says.
“I’ve thought about it all winter and I’m truly excited to go fast again.”
“We have worked very hard this off-season, like all race teams usually do, and our main focus this year is organization,” the 27-year old says.
“The Apollo Ace,” Flick also says that he and the No. 2 team hope to be able to frequent other Central Pa region shows during the weekends more often during the year ahead and he’s counting on the team’s organizational focus to help make that happen.
“I think we will be able to make adjustments quicker and make better decisions to help fine tune our race car every night,” he says.
“If we can show up to the speedway with the same speed we ended 2019 with, I know we can finish up front.”
“Our preparedness is at a higher level than ever before and I expect that to translate with strong results.”
Last year, Flick recorded several wins including the richest victory and most prestigious of his career worth some $12,000 in the Port Royal Speedway Living Legends Dream Race in August.
The Apollo pilot’s career sprint car win total now stands at 22
